Lumiotec has started shipping sample panels back in February 2010 (here's our hands-on review) - and the new panels will be thinner, lighter and cheaper. In fact thickness and weight have been halved (all the panels are 2.1mm thick), and the price for the large square panel (145x145mm) LED Linear high bay light will be 30,000 yen (around $360) - less than half of the price of the sample panel.Fairchild and Changhong started to set up a relationship from 2004 with the establishment of a joint product development laboratory. This announcement is considered to be an extension of that long-standing cooperation.
The company noted, GIO mainly supplied LED light bars for Chimei making LED backlight units used in LCD TV panels. Due to increased orders from Chimei, GIO had reached full utilization of its CCFL and LED light bar production capacities.Meanwhile, GIO has walked into 3D led high bay light converter drivers and began producing a lot recently. It is expected that in 2010 the company shipped 30,000 3D LED converter drivers and over one million units in 2011.

Nichia Corp had filed a patent infringement lawsuit in Germany at the District Court Düsseldorf against Taiwan LED manufacturer Harvatek Corp, and later several German distributors of Harvatek were also accused by Nichia, which were thought to infringe Nichia’s two different white LEDs patents.
