Dialight will manufacture the Lumitrol? controls at its facility in Ensenada, Mexico and the LED products incorporating the controls will be sold by Dialight’s direct sales force and distributor sales representatives.Commenting on the acquisition Roy Burton, Group Chief Executive, said:“The acquisition of controls capability will be key to further driving the value proposition and improving payback to our hazardous LED lighting customers”.
The project involved installation of more than 28,800 light bulbs with LED technology of which more than 20,880 Master LED lamps are replacing halogen and incandescent lamps, and more than 8,000 Fortimo LED systems are substituting fluorescent systems. The new Philips LED lighting technology has between 25,000 and 50,000 hours of life, reducing operating expenses by not having to constantly change the lamps.
The LED lighting system was designed according to the needs of each restaurant. For example, in the case of Domino′s Pizza and Burger King, a uniform lighting was installed throughout the sales floors where the color temperature enables a safety and clean environment. At Starbucks, warm colors were used, creating environments of comfort and relaxation, and at PF Chang′s a discreet lighting was deployed accentuating the architecture of the restaurant.
The benefits of using efficient lighting are plentiful. For example, to reduce the electrical charge in energy-producing plants and decrease the investment in building new plants; to also provide quality lighting to improve wellbeing and productivity, and to allow cost savings and diminish the ecological footprint and climate change.
